As of Friday November 13th at 5:30pm the Naples Pier reopened after four long months of renovations. The pier is now 1000 feet of Brazilian Ipe wood which is extremely dense as well as fire and rot resistant.
In addition to the pier receiving a face lift, the bathrooms have been completely overhauled and are lined with easy to clean epoxy flooring. The amount of stalls has also been increased and there is now a family restroom which can double as a changing room. The new bathrooms will not be officially open until December.
The pier cost roughly 2.4 million dollars which was part of the tourist development tax.
